Arrested Development Season 2: AMIGOS

“AMIGOS” is yet another AD episode filled with gut busting hilarity. The first thing that pops into my mind is G.O.B.’s chicken impression. Ha!!Ha!! It’s just so absurd that it’s amazing they even thought it up…Well, certainly there is a whole lot more to this episode so let’s start from the beginning. Michael returns to work to find G.O.B. adjusting to his new position as President – even though it’s just a title - as he is attempting to hang a motivational poster about it being okay to make mistakes and in a matter of seconds it falls to the ground and he accidentally kicks it and smashes the glass. Michael then wants to show him some company stats since he is the president even though it is only a title, and G.O.B. demonstrates his unfamiliarity with the word “circumvent” which he mispronounces several time in the show. Michael then tells G.O.B that he’s going to get Lego land tickets for him and his son, who is enthusiastic about the idea and claims he’ll call his friends – to which Michael smirks and says “what friends?” – to which G.O.B claims he has friends but never sees them because he is always working. A few moments later, G.O.B enters Michael’s office which is now the storage room and tells him he thinks the plant lady wears a thong. Lucille then enters Michael’s new office in the storage room and tells him Gene Parmesan – their private detective - is on the case to help search for their father, George Sr. A moment later, Gene enters the room disguised as a cleaning person and turns and surprises Lucille who gives off a child-like scream of excitement. Gene immediately reveals George’s getaway vehicle – the company stairway– tracked down in Mexico – and then sets off the fire alarm. Next as everyone congregates outside because of the fire alarm being set off, Michael then decides that a trip over the boarder is in order, and would be a great way for him and his son, George Michael, to take that trip they always wanted and decides to do it after Buster’s going away to the army going away party that Lucille is throwing just to spite him. G.O.B. overhears this conversation and gets suspicious thinking that Michael is fleeing to Mexico so that so he can stick him with the failing company business and join their father. He therefore, decides to hire his own bounty hunter, ICE, to keep on Michael’s tail. In the next scene Michael arrives home to tell his son of the wonderful plan of taking a trip together to Mexico to retrieve the company stairs and look for Pop Pop. To Michael’s utter disappointment, George Michael tells him that he can’t because he has plans to hang out with Ann – to which Michael accuses him of being an Ann hog and tells him not to be such an Ann hog. Michael who is also in need of another driver to take along on the trip, asks Tobias, who can’t because of a call he might get from the Blue Man Group and then convinces Lindsay to accompany him and bring Maeby along. The next day at Buster's party, Buster asks Michael if he can get him out of the army, but as Michael tells him maybe they can figure something out after they get back from Mexico, Buster gets the idea of escaping to Mexico. ICE the bounty hunter waiting on Michael’s every move is sitting on the couch next to GOB when Lindsay who arrives notices ICE and becomes interested in going out with him. Michael tries to round up his son for the trip and learns that Ann is also coming since George Michael doesn’t want to be such an Ann hog and wants his dad to get to know her more. On the way to Mexico Michael drops off Lupe, the house keeper and Buster who thinks he was hitching a secret ride to Mexico in the trunk of the car, gets out but doesn’t realize he’s only 6 minutes away from home and thinks he’s in Mexico. When Michael and the gang gets to Mexico, they locate the company stairs and then Michael gets tackled by ICE but then puts him on the case of finding George Sr. Maeby hitches a ride back with Michael who was supposed to head back with Ann to get to know her better. As a result Ann is left behind. When they arrive home George Michael asks his dad how the ride went with ANN as the two realize she’s still in Mexico and rush back to get her. Meanwhile G.O.B realizes that ICE is no longer following Michael and follows him instead. When Michael arrives in Mexico he is tackled once again, this time by G.O.B who accuses him of fleeing which Michael denies and claims he couldn’t invite him since they got into a lot of trouble last time with G.O.B’s inflammatory “co-coco-coco-coco..” song and dance chicken impression, which G.O.B proceeds to engage once more – to which he then gets tackled – this time by Gene Parmesan who was following his trail on Lucille’s orders. Michael then tells G.O.B that they’ll always be friends and they’ll always look out for each other just as he then gets tackled by ICE again who G.O.B did see coming but he just wanted to see where Michael was going with that.

Lucille to Annyong: Here's some money. Go see a star war.

Tobias: And secondively, I know you are the big marriage expert...Oh I'm sorry, I forgot...your wife is dead!

Maeby: And it's not a race thing.
Michael: Yeah, whoever gets there first.

Tobias: I won't know officially till 8:01 but I figure if I blue myself early, I'd be nice and relaxed enough for a 9:00 dinner reservation..

Tobias: Hey, who wants to go to the hospital?
